Nepal - Pokhara and a rest day!

We arrived at Pokhara again last night. After a jeep ride and a bus ride down the mountain. We get two nights here!! It's exciting not to have to repack for one night...lol.

Nepal Hiking - Days 4 & 5

Well, there isn't much more to say about walking. The last day and a half we basically walked down. Which is a bit easier for me than walking up, but poor Anthony has a bad knee so it was excruciating for him. We went really slowly on all the downhill bits. Again it was mostly stairs as well, and as we descend it gets a lot warmer. Mostly forest so large parts are shady. We are also by a big river most of the time. Lol...the constant sound of water makes me need to pee all day!!

Nepal Hiking - Day 3: Poon Hill and beyond

So today I was up at about 4am for a cold dark walk up 509 meters to watch the sun rise on Poon Hill across the Himalayas!! Anthony decided he didn't care about sunrises so he slept in!!

So I'll start by saying that blogger has let me down. It only saved the first post that I wrote while hiking so I'll have to recreate the other two :-(  and because I have a poor memory I have probably forgotten everything...but at least I have pictures, although the app seems to not know how to post them right side up...lol

Nepal Hiking - Day 1: Pokhara to Ulleri

Today was the first day hiking. We started with a lovely morning packing up in Pokhara. I've a picture from our hotel balcony (hopefully not upside down)..they look a bit wonky in my preview....Anyways after a breakfast (I didn't make it to 6:30am yoga) we got on an old rattley bus for about two hours to the start of the hike.

Nepal - Hello from Nepal

It's been a long time since I updated this blog!! I'll take a minute now before I go to bed to write about about the past couple of days in Nepal!

We arrived in Kathmandu after a long long flight from Birmingham. It flight was full of children. I never saw (or heard) so many babies on an airplane before. Luckily the one that sat on its mothers lap next to me was pretty quiet. We transferred in Dubai. We had about five hours there so we took a nap. Luckily I woke up and checked the departures board because our flight wasn't on there..we were in the wrong terminal. Ooops. We found our next flight and while it seemed to be in the Ryan air of the middle east, it was pretty comfortable and I slept the full four hour flight!!
